Priceless Treasures
Ruth Joliffe has been home with the Lord for almost two years now. Those who went to church with Mrs. Joliffe, or had any contact at all with her probably remember the pieces of paper she handed out with scriptures written on them along with pictures she had drawn of birds, angels, and lighthouses. I have several I saved and treasure that she gave me through the years. I often get sad when I pass her seat in church, missing her and the encouragement she gave so freely. But then I think of what a great time I know she is having in Heaven and smile.
I remember how she always prayed for me. She knew when I needed it most. The past few days I have really needed prayer and thought of Ruth often.
Yesterday when I was cleaning out a closet at home, a shirt fell from the hanger to the floor. As I picked it up I felt something in the pocket. My first thought was that it might be money. It wasn't. It was something much better. It was one of Ms. Ruth's papers that she had given my husband at church. On one side was a picture of a little angel with wings playing the harp surrounded with music notes. On the other side were these words, "God is singing over you today! (Zeph)"
I smiled at the thought of God singing over me and smiled at the thought of Him using a note from my friend who had been in Heaven with Him for almost two years to remind me of that. I got my Bible and looked for the scripture and read the whole verse. Not only is singing, but He also takes delight in me, quiets me with His love, He is with me! He is mighty to save! Today if you are feeling down, or sad, or discouraged remember there are people praying for you here. More importantly, remember God is watching over you and has so many ways designed especially for you to remind you of that when you need it most.
Take the time to look for those little reminders. Each one is a priceless treasure.
