It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I've always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let's make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we're together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?

Won't you please,
Won't you please,
Please won't you be my neighbor?
Would You Be My Neighbor?

Today I stopped by McDonald's and was greeted by the cashier with a pleasant
"Good Morning." I placed my order and stepped to the side to wait.   There I heard a song being sung by the girl who worked the drive-through.  "It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood..." I joined in...  "Would you be.... could you be?...." and together we sang "Won't you be my neighbor?"  The worker laughed and told the whole line of workers in the kitchen that it was their assignment to learn the words to the song before in the morning.  As I walked away feeling much better than I did when I walked up another customer was at the counter.  The singing drive-through girl said, "Good morning, how are you?"  He said, "Fine and you appear to be doing good this morning." She said, "Yes, I make it a habit to be doing good every morning.  It just comes naturally. I am blessed!"
I asked a girl cleaning the dining room what was the singer's name.  She said, "Rita."  Rita boldly let her little light shine brightly at McDonald's. The light that was shining through was definitely Jesus even though she didn't mention His name.  He is easily recognizable when people exhibit His joy.
Whatever neighborhood we find ourselves in this world, we should make it a brighter place. The joy of Jesus should shine through no matter what situation we find ourselves in.  It is a beautiful day. You are blessed.  Find a song to sing that will make someone want to sing along.  Find someone who needs a neighbor just like you.
