That's A Given
Raindrops kept fallin' on everyone's head the day after Christmas. It rained on the bargain hunters and on the gift returners. It rained on the decoration taker downers and Christmas trash taker outers. It even rained on those of us who had to go to work at grocery stores to serve all those out getting rained on shopping for something to eat besides Christmas leftovers. Many of them sang, "Rain, rain go away!"
The rain falling Monday reminded me of the showers of blessings God sends into our lives. His love, mercy, and grace rain down every single day - rain or shine. With the Christmas Season just passing all the awe of the miracle of God sending His only Son to earth as a little baby is still afresh in our minds.
But remember, after God gave Jesus, Jesus gave. He gave not only His very life but promised He will give those who love Him so many things.
You might say, "that's a given." But when was the last time you truly meditated on all the things that are available to us that Jesus is ready to give if we simply go to Him and ask? God doesn't intend for His children to simply have leftovers. He offers us the very best.
Here are a few things Jesus Himself promised to give in the scriptures.
Please take the time not only to read them but to claim them for yourself.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: Matthew 16:19
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and overall the power of the enemy: Luke 10:19
For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. Luke 21:15
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14
Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: John 6:27
and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:51
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. John 10:28
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. John 14:27

The Revelation of Jesus Christ,
which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass;
and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
all these things are named which will be given...
to eat of the tree of life a crown of life
to eat of the hidden manna
a white stone with a new name written on it that we will be given
power over the nations - the morning star
a fountain of the water of life given freely
a reward to every man according to his works.
